International Center of Photography, General Studies Program, New York 2012-13 Isabella Ståhl’s work is widely exhibited in Europe and the U.S. Applying both curiosity and personal experience Ståhl illuminates the beauty in the interplay between untouched nature, animals and leftovers from a once populated countryside.

Exploring these rural landscapes in order to uncover the otherworldly qualities through everyday settings has now become the focal point of Ståhl’s work. Years later when returning to Sweden she began to observe the familiar surroundings of her childhood with the same interest as when traveling unfamiliar parts of the world. She continued her studies in New York and then moved to Paris and Berlin, where she started her journey as a freelance photographer. Isabella’s interest in photography started at a young age, leaving her hometown in the northern parts of Sweden to study in Stockholm. Isabella Ståhl is a Swedish artist and photographer.
